When it comes to developing a design that appropriately captures an author’s message, there’s a varying number of concepts that are required for the final result.
Some design projects take as little as two or three front cover comps whereas others (such as this one) can take in excess of twenty. An important thing to keep in mind when having a book cover brought to fruition is the importance of variety. This holds true for first-time independent authors as well as large scale traditional publishers such as the designs we are about to explore.
Without any further introduction, the various concepts explored ending with the finalized, selected book cover design concept.
Note: You may notice some concepts contain low-res or “watermark” graphics. This is a result of using “sample” thumbnail images on early, unapproved concepts.
